Ian Routledge
Ian Routledge is a Strategic Consultant at Compact Container Systems and is primarily focused on the development and growth of CCS’ sales and marketing in Asia. A native of Australia, Mr. Routledge has over 47 years of experience in the maritime and transportation industries.
Mr. Routledge's extensive industry experience started in 1977 as a Sales Manager at Sea Containers Asia. In 1981, he became an Owners Representative for Sea Containers Australia based out of Japan during which time Seacontainers became the largest domestic container leasing company in Australia. Mr. Routledge was named Marketing Director for Australasia Sea Containers in 1985 and, subsequently, Managing Director of Australia for Sea Container Australia in 1991. In 2001, Mr. Routledge moved to London, where he became Vice President of Sales and Marketing for GE SeaCo, a joint venture of Sea Containers. During this time, he re-energized the sales team and achieved three (3) consecutive years of strong capital expenditures while simultaneously increasing sales revenue. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Routledge worked as the Managing Director of Australasia Sea Containers, and from 2006 to 2008, as the Vice President of Asia Pacific, GE SeaCo Australia. Between 2008 and 2012, Mr. Routledge worked as the Vice President of Asia Pacific GE SeaCo Asia, based in Singapore, where he developed the Singapore office into the provider of backroom services across the greater company and grew the reputation of GE SeaCo as one of the main suppliers of leasing equipment in Asia. Between 2013 and 2015, he worked as the Vice President of Asia Pacific Raffles Lease Pte Ltd., based in Sydney, where he was responsible for the Asia Pacific region. While at Raffles, Mr. Routledge developed a leasing business for the start-up company on a management basis for Raffles’ parent company, Buss Global. In addition to his role at CCS, Mr. Routledge is the Director of Intermodal Containers Australia, a company based in Sydney.
