Elmer Laydon
Elmer has been Compact Container Systems, LLC's Chief Financial Officer since 2019 and was made Chief Operating Officer in 2024. As the Company’s strategic corporate finance and operations executive, his responsibilities include all aspects of financial management, planning, and strategy, including accounting, audit, treasury, and corporate finance, as well as guiding capital allocation to operating, growth, and development opportunities.
Elmer has 40 years of financial management experience spanning from financial and tax reporting for both private and public going concerns to consulting on and accounting for mergers and acquisitions and financial workouts and turnarounds. Elmer’s financial thought leadership has helped many companies identify opportunities and overcome obstacles to financial and performance success.
Elmer is the founder and managing member of Laydon and Company, LLC, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants. Elmer was formerly a tax manager with PriceWaterhouse, an international “Big Six” accounting firm. During his tenure at PriceWaterhouse, he provided accounting, tax, and consulting services to many Fortune 500 companies. He also has served as the director of a regional accounting firm’s tax and consulting practices.
Elmer is a graduate of Quinnipiac College with a B.S. degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the States of Connecticut, Florida, and Tennessee. Elmer also holds the professional designations of Certified Fraud Examiner as well as Certified Global Management Accountant. Elmer is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Elmer formerly coached ice hockey. He has won several Connecticut State and New England Regional titles and was runner-up to the National Champion. Several of his former players have gone on to represent the United States in the Olympics.
